    Juan Carlos Cardona is a 21 year veteran of the Coral Springs Fire Department. He is the current Division Chief in charge of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and the fire department’s Community Health Initiatives. Chief Cardona has a Bachelors’ degree in Professional Management from Nova South Eastern University and a Masters’ degree in Public Administration from Barry University. He holds the Chief EMS Officer designation by the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Chief Cardona is an international writer, speaker and presenter who travels regularly and collaborates to improve fire and EMS around the world.

    Tricia Casey is a long-time paramedic who has dedicated her career to improving emergency care for pediatric patients with complex medical needs. Currently working at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, her biggest achievement has been the design of the widely adopted STARS program that has proven to improve outcomes for high risk pediatric patients in the pre-hospital setting. She was the 2016 recipient of the Missouri EMS Association Presidential Achievement Award, accepted the 2018 Focus St. Louis “What’s Right With The Region” award for the STARS Program, and was most recently awarded the 2018 JEMS EMS10 award for innovation in EMS. Tricia currently serves as the chair of the Missouri State Advisory Council Pediatric Subcommittee.
