About the class

Babysitting 101 is a six-hour class taught annually in June by instructors from Arkansas Children's. It empowers youth ages 12 to 14 with knowledge to be safe, nurturing and fun babysitters. Topics such as Safety Skills, Child Care Skills, Behavior Management Skills, First Aid & Rescue Skills and Life & Business Skills, are covered in each class through a variety of hands-on activities, games, videos and more. The Rescue Skills section includes the topics of choking rescue and CPR, however the class does not include certification in these areas. Each class has a $35 fee, which is due upon arrival for class.

A prior Babysitting 101 participant said,

"My favorite thing about the class was how active it was. I felt like I was doing stuff the entire time, and it was really helpful information that I had fun learning about."
